The Lottery Procedure

New members will be sent an introductory letter giving details of their unique randomly selected draw number which is created by our approved secure computer software, and a personal membership number for each entry.

The Norfolk Hospice Lottery reserves the right not to accept an application for membership of the Lottery without giving reason and at our absolute discretion. Our weekly draw normally takes place on a Friday. We reserve the right to delay or temporarily suspend the draw in the following circumstances: Public holidays, software or systems failure or any unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the Norfolk Hospice that prevents the draw from being executed. In the event that the draw is delayed, it will take place as soon as possible thereafter.

The Draw is based on a subscription of £1 per entry per week. Any members who have not subscribed in a particular week will not be entered into that draw, however their membership of the Lottery is not automatically cancelled and they will be entered in future draws, if and when we receive a payment. We prefer Direct Debit Payments and subscriptions can be – £4.34 per calendar month, £13 quarterly, £26 half yearly or £52 annually.

Lottery entry payments will be held in a separate bank account and advance payments for future draws identified so that should the lottery be cancelled, refunds can be made. Players advanced payments are not protected in the event of insolvency.

A full list of the current weekly prize structure can be found in our leaflet, on our lottery webpages or by contacting the Lottery Office on 0330 678 3055.

Winning cheques will be sent out automatically within 1 week of the draw taking place with details of the winning numbers being publicised on the Hospice website, displayed at the Hospice, in our charity shops and in the local newspaper and on social media. Full winners lists are also available from the Lottery Office on 0330 678 3055.

It is the responsibility of the member to notify the Lottery Office of any changes to their name, address or telephone number. Although we will make attempts to locate prize winners of prizes over £10 if they have moved, in the event of winning cheques remaining un-cashed due to changes not being notified to the Lottery Office, the promoter reserves the right to return unclaimed prizes to The Norfolk Hospice Funds after a period of 6 months and to treat these as a donation.

The Norfolk Hospice Lottery cannot accept any responsibility for any loss or delay of any payment or communication sent by post, direct from a bank or building society, fax or email.

Data Protection

Data held by The Norfolk Hospice Lottery is held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and will not be passed to, or sold to any other organisation.

Cancellation of Membership

Membership of the Norfolk Hospice Lottery can be cancelled at any time, however instructions received after the close of business on a Wednesday may not be actioned until after the weekly draw. It is the policy of the Norfolk Hospice Lottery not to give refunds once the payment has been processed onto the lottery software unless a written request is received. In the case of Existing Standing Order payments where the player’s bank has made an error in the amount or frequency of payment requested by the player, and over-subscribes as a result, a full refund will be offered. Where a player discontinues their membership and a balance of less than £1 remains in their account, we will treat that balance as a donation to the Hospice.

Cancellations should be submitted in writing to the Lottery Office or via email to norfolkhospice@weeklylottery.co.uk If membership is paid by regular standing order it is the responsibility of the member to also cancel the order directly with their bank.

If you have more than one lottery number and you would like to reduce this then please let us know.

If we are notified of a member’s death, a refund will be given to that person’s Estate for any un-played subscriptions if requested. If a refund is not requested, the unique number will continue to be entered into the draw until the credit reaches zero and any prizes will be paid into the Estate.

Players or non players can self-exclude from the lottery either by telephone, email or in writing. Please contact the Lottery office if you need further information concerning our self– exclusion policy.
